My two-and-a-half-week stay with Giulia and Pedro at Sítio SouFarm was a truly enriching and positive experience, for which I am very grateful. Both of them are incredibly kind, open-minded and warm-hearted young people who have a lot of experience with WWOOFing/Workaway themselves and therefore know exactly what matters. From the very beginning, we felt welcome and respected. The work was fair and considerate, both in terms of working hours and individual needs. Pedro, in particular, took a lot of time to share his extensive knowledge about organic farming in Brazil. The work was not only hands-on, but also very educational and interesting, especially for those who are interested in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry and ecological systems. A special highlight was that Giulia and Pedro even invited us to their home, where we enjoyed a wonderful Brazilian barbecue, and there was another lovely barbecue together at the end of the stay. These moments made the experience very personal and special. In addition, both of them were always flexible, helpful and generous with advice, giving us many valuable tips for the region and beyond. Notes for future volunteers: • It is important to bring enough of your own food. Basic supplies are provided, but for anything beyond that, you should take care of it yourself. • Having a Brazilian SIM card is highly recommended (essential, really) in order to stay reachable and organized. Overall, I can fully recommend sta

I've spent 2 incredible weeks in Sítio Sou. Pedro and Giulia are awesome people that really cares about doing something better and they know a lot about agroforestry, agriculture and the environment in general. They always take time to teach you things about the farm but also about the place. Also I highly recommend to go to Teresópolis during the weekend to do hikes (Pedra do Sina), it's really worth it ! Muito obrigada pra tudo amigos, aprendi muito com vocês e sorte pra seus projetos!

The accommodation is basic, but it has everything you need. The work is varied, and Pedro gives a good introduction. I had a lot of fun, even though I was there when there were no other volunteers.

I had a wonderful 3-week stay at Sitio Sou! The farm is in a beautiful location atop of a hill, and it’s clear Pedro and Giulia really care for their land and have a clear vision for what they want it to be, centered around agroforestry. The work was fine, not too heavy, and quite enjoyable spending the day outside and having some different tasks to do following purchase orders, weeding and regular crop maintenance, or whatever other projects were ongoing at the time. As a volunteer I certainly felt looked after, thanks Pedro and Giulia!

My friend Kenya and I spent two incredible weeks at Pedro and Giulia’s breathtaking farm. It’s the perfect place for anyone interested in agroforestry, organic farming, and learning about medicinal plants and essential oil distillation. Pedro and Giulia are not only deeply knowledgeable but also generous and passionate teachers. We volunteered during a very busy time while they were completing multiple projects, and they still took the time to share their time and expertise with us. Everyone who works with them welcomed us with open arms, and as two women traveling, we felt completely safe, supported, and cared for. Their love for what they do is obvious and inspiring. We hope to return some day and see how all of the amazing developments in process continue to grow. Highly recommended!
