The property is located in the rural region of Divino de Sao Lourenco, a tourist region that is situated next to the natural park of Caparao with many beautiful waterfalls, hundreds of hiking and cycling trails and the best coffee of Brazil that’s plant here in small scales. Part of the property is inside of the natural park and encompasses a nursery of native tree seedlings of the rain forest (Atlantic forest) ecosystem. I am streetartist (Instagram: Marombarts), passionate world traveler and cook, storyteller and organic gardener (permaculture). The accommodation is in a charming house with 3 guestbeds beds in one shared room with reliable internet connection and very calm places for online work. The house is surrounded by rain forest with fruit trees and a breath taking view. We have a library with many books in Portuguese, German an English. In 3 km you can find a village (Patrimonio da Penha) with supermarkets, restaurants, bars and a health center. The next beach is 3 hours by car. Thank you so much, Maromba! I can recommend this place to anyone who is willing to put in a lot of energy to gain many wonderful memories of this amazing place. The time I spent with Maromba at the foot of the national park was absolutely idyllic for me! It was so educational, meaningful, balanced, varied and also adventurous. From the very beginning, I felt welcome and useful. We really had a cultural exchange and Maromba took so much time to answer all my questions about nature and wildlife. He is an absolutely fabulous chef, especially when it comes to Brazilian dishes made with local ingredients. There is so much to discover in the surrounding area! Countless waterfalls and pools in the rivers to swim in, a village (only 5-10 minutes away by bike) with lots of small cafés, restaurants and shops and open-hearted, wonderful people. I was invited by the people in the village to join in activities (despite my very limited knowledge of Portuguese)! I wish you all the best, Maromba, and I would love to come back to your place to learn even more about nature and life.

Marombas place was my first stop in Brasil and it will be one i remember for the rest of life. It was my first wwoofing experience and i wouldnt have asked for it to be another way. Maromba himself is the most interesting people i’ve met in my entire life and traveling to meet him and volunteer on his property is well worth the journey. Please come to his property only in the case of you want to want to work hard and give back because marombas knowledge is worth well more than anything you could receive. Maromba big hug big love and i’ll always be grateful for the experience i was gifted

We are so grateful that we went to Maromba`s beautiful farm. We had the absolute best time. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with kindness and open arms. The work was rewarding and varied – we learned so much about sustainable and organic farming and local plants. But what made the experience truly unforgettable were the people. We made amazing friends, both fellow volunteers and the hosts: Maromba and Merlijn, and felt like we became part of a community. If you're looking for an authentic, heartwarming, and transformative WOOFING experience, we couldn't recommend this place more highly.

I consider myself privileged and lucky to have been accepted to stay and work and learn at this Sitio. Maromba, the host, is an amazing human who truly enjoys sharing his wast knoledge of permaculture, agroforestry, biodiversity of the region, survival skills and simple living, but also deep understanding of human nature and stories of his colorful life. He is very respectful and understanding and is doing his best to accomodate people's needs and make the stay at his Sitio the best experience. The workload on the Sitio varies, due to weather conditions and season of the year. It's a slow pace environment, as everything gets done with the flow of nature. If you expect a firm structure or schedule, this is not the best place for you. It requires of a woofer to be adaptable, sometimes proactive, always creative and respectful. It also requires of a woofer to be mentaly prepared to enjoy an absolute stunning surroundings, the best sunrises and incredible sunsets, fresh rivers and waterfalls, Maromba's amazing weekday lunches, friendly neighbours, a few cats and dogs, a game of carrom, learning about 726 names and uses of the local plants, how to make a compost lasagne and rost coffee, and share all that with a couple of other people that might become your forever friends.

I had far too short a time at Marombas, but the time I had there was wonderfully memorable! Maromba is a man full of stories and care for those around him. He eagerly shares his knowledge of nature, his place and other life skills. Incredible cook. Always a good atmosphere. The place offers a rich and beautiful biodiversity that was fantastic to experience. It was also a place to make new friends and I highly recommend it!

What an incredible time and unforgettable experience! I spent close to four weeks at Maromba’s farm, and it was everything I hoped for when I signed up for WWOOF. Maromba is a man of great respect, profound knowledge, and rich life experience. His wisdom and approach to farming and life left a lasting impression on me. Thank you for the hospitality, guidance, and the many lessons I’ll carry with me. Gratidão, valeu!
