Homestead, Farm
Pernambuco
Hi, I’m Marcio and for the last 8 years, I’ve been dedicated to a mission that is as challenging as it is rewarding: turning 10 hectares of degraded sugarcane land in Ipojuca into a thriving, syntropic food forest.
I live here with my son (part-time), and Im right in the middle of a massive "building phase." This isn't a finished, postcard-perfect farm—it’s a living, breathing project where we deal with the real, grit-under-the-fingernails challenges of rural life in the Brazilian Northeast.
Why we need you right now
The forest is already giving back, and we are producing amazing things like fresh vegetables, honey, dehydrated fruits and artisanal tapioca. But to be honest? We are still figuring out how to scale everything. I need people who don’t just want to follow a "to-do" list, but who want to put their brains and hearts into the process.
I’m looking for someone (one person at a time to keep it personal) who wants to help us:
- Scale the Field: Improve our planting and maintenance routines to increase production while staying true to the soil.
- Establish the Business: We need help organizing our sales, refining our marketing, and professionalizing our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) deliveries.
- Build Resilience: From small constructions to solving the daily puzzles of rural logistics—we are building a life of happiness here, one challenge at a time.
Rhythm & Flexibility
Life on a farm doesn't always follow a 9-to-5 schedule. Around here, Saturday and Sunday can be normal workdays, depending on the weather, the needs of the land, or the harvest. However, your two days off are flexible. We coordinate everything in advance, ensuring you have clear time to rest and explore. It’s all about balance and clear communication.
Table: Nutrition and Truth
We believe that regeneration starts with what we put on our plates. Our foundation is what the earth gives us as much as possible: plenty of fruits and vegetables, roots (cassava, yams), eggs, beans, honey and the traditional "cuscuz." We also consume meat, fish, and dairy mindfully.
We are in the midst of building our self-sufficiency, and this is a daily process. We value a high-standard diet, and in practice, there is a clear difference between basic food and the quality nutrition we choose to offer here. Since we prioritize "clean" ingredients and real food for everyone, we discuss the details of this dynamic and how we organize our pantry openly during our personal interview.
Is this for you?
If you are between 25 and 50, in good physical shape, and looking to apply your life experience—whether it’s in management, digital content, or a natural knack for organizing—this is a match. You’ll work hard (5-6 hours a day), sweat under the tropical sun or rain, and see exactly how an agroecological business is built from the ground up.
The Setup
- The Vibe: Honest, simple, and hard-working. We share two solid, home-cooked meals on workdays and talk a lot about life, legacy, and the history of this land.
- Comfort: You’ll stay in a cozy 3-bedroom house with the basics covered. Internet is good, is limited, but the connection to the earth is 100%.
- Location: 35km from the surf at Maracaípe and 40km from Recife.
- Communication: I speak Portuguese, French, and English.
I’m looking for someone to stay at least 4 weeks. If you have initiative, creativity, and a bit of a "get it done" spirit, I want to hear from you.

Marcio and Jana are two amazing people that hosted me in the best conditions. I spent one month and a half working with them in their quite new farm and I enjoyed it a lot. There are very open minded, ready to listen to you and your ideas. I felt that i really took part of the project and that I wasn't just a labour force.
More than a simple farm, their project to educate local farmers and others to agroforestry in order to spread this sustainable way of farming in more than interesting !!
I recommend everyone to join them without hesitation !
