Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) links visitors with organic farmers, promotes an educational and cultural exchange and builds a global community conscious of ecological farming practices.

WWOOF was founded in 1971 and is one of the world’s first educational and cultural exchange programs. Today, WWOOF is in more than 132 countries around the world (and growing).

WWOOF Brasil is the national organization helping to create local WWOOFing opportunities in Brazil and to promote sustainable farming as a lifestyle.

Visitors, or 'WWOOFers', share in daily life with their host and learn about organic agriculture, while spending about half of each day helping out on a farm.

My experience at Conrado's was truly great! The location is beautiful and the work very varied and interesting, I learnt many things in just two weeks there. The people you will work with are very nice and Conrado himself very friendly. I highly recommend if you want to learn to make some cheese and yoghurt and want to spend some time in the Minas countryside.

We had a wonderful week with Guxa at her beautiful farm. She was incredibly welcoming to us, sharing openly her lovely home, her friends, and her affectionate pets. We had a beautiful time tending to the garden, helping to build a new cacao-drying house, and harvesting acai! And in our off hours we enjoyed swimming, cooking, bird-watching, and having meaningful conversations. We feel so grounded, refreshed, inspired, and loved after our time with Guxa. Muito muito obrigado Guxa, we hope to be back for a visit some day, and are so excited to watch your dream come to life! A te mais :)

Passamos algumas semanas no Recanto Primavera, e posso dizer que foi uma das melhores experiências de vida, foi a primeira vez voluntariando e Luiz nos recebeu muito bem, super atencioso e nos trouxe muitos aprendizados sobre agrofloresta, e os aspectos de um cultivo sustentável, passamos dias muito felizes em estar perto da linda natureza ao redor e conhecendo outros voluntários com uma troca muito rica de ideias, recomendo de olhos fechados, sou muito grata mesmo, foi maravilhoso, encheu meu coração de alegria e voltamos de lá com uma chavinha virada na cabeça. Luiz se mostrou sempre muito disposto a ensinar e nos deixar confortáveis em cada atividade e no conforto da estadia. Pudemos ter trocas muito ricas com os outros voluntariados o que tornou a experiência ainda mais emocionante. Ali nos sentimos em casa e fizemos amizades para a vida. J’ai passé environ dix jours en woofing chez Rosana, et le timing était parfait : je suis arrivée en plein cœur de la récolte d’açaï. J’ai pu découvrir concrètement cette culture, comprendre son entretien et participer à la vie d’un potager particulièrement riche et productif. Ils m'ont partagé bien plus que son savoir : son accueil chaleureux, sa générosité et sa cuisine faite maison, à partir de ce que nous cultivions sur place, des repas simples, savoureux, et qui me manquent encore. Grâce à leur gentillesse, j’ai aussi pu découvrir différentes activités et m’immerger pleinement dans leur quotidien. spent one week at this WWOOF farm, and it was truly a meaningful and enriching experience. I loved my time there and learned a lot, especially from Luiz and his unique way of making the soil naturally fertile. It was fascinating for me to see the differences between Indian organic farming practices and the Brazilian approach, which gave me a completely new perspective on sustainable agriculture. I was also given the opportunity to cook food for everyone, which turned out to be a very special experience for me. Sharing meals and contributing in this way made me feel more connected to the place and the people. Another thing I really appreciated was the freedom I had to try my own experiments on the farm. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to explore this as much as I wanted, but I truly valued the trust and openness. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and felt happy to be part of something meaningful and aligned with nature. I learned, I felt inspired, and I left with beautiful memories. I would definitely love to come back and stay for more weeks in the future.

Michael tiene un terreno muy interesante donde seguro no te aburrirás porque hay trabajo de todo tipo. Fue mi primera experiencia como Wwoofer y en las tres semanas que pasé allí tuve tiempo de cuidar el jardín y cosechar la fruta de los muchos árboles frutales que tiene, de preparar el terreno para la construcción del centro cultural en el que está trabajando, de retirar basura del río, ayudar en la construcción de parte de la casa y pasar tiempo en plena selva en el terreno q tiene. Mucha vida local, planes con los vecinos y actividades en la naturaleza. Novo Airao es una puerta de entrada muy accesible y fácil para los que quieran conocer el Amazonas. La habitación es muy cómoda y la convivencia con Michael muy agradable y relajada. Me encantó estar allí. Gracias!!

Leuke eigenaar, je kunt er veel leren over zijn idee van agroforestry en zijn aanpak. Het is relaxed in de omgang en het werk kan veel verschillend zijn als je niet fit bent is t minder geschikt voor je.

A fazenda está localizada em um lugar magnífico, cercada por trilhas e cachoeiras. A acomodação é muito limpa. As tarefas a serem realizadas na fazenda eram muito interessantes, embora eu tenha estado presente em um momento um pouco mais calmo. Luiz is such an incredible human! It was amazing to spend those two weeks with him, filled with activities such as cutting grass with machines, planting many baby coffee plants, cooking great food, and laughing a lot! This place in Serra Negra is wonderful, and you can enjoy so much nature all around the fields. I hope I get the chance to come back in a few years to see the coffee plants I planted grow. And I also connected with his cat, who is the cutest cat in the world! Love you Jaku <3

My two-and-a-half-week stay with Giulia and Pedro at Sítio SouFarm was a truly enriching and positive experience, for which I am very grateful. Both of them are incredibly kind, open-minded and warm-hearted young people who have a lot of experience with WWOOFing/Workaway themselves and therefore know exactly what matters. From the very beginning, we felt welcome and respected. The work was fair and considerate, both in terms of working hours and individual needs. Pedro, in particular, took a lot of time to share his extensive knowledge about organic farming in Brazil. The work was not only hands-on, but also very educational and interesting, especially for those who are interested in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry and ecological systems. A special highlight was that Giulia and Pedro even invited us to their home, where we enjoyed a wonderful Brazilian barbecue, and there was another lovely barbecue together at the end of the stay. These moments made the experience very personal and special. In addition, both of them were always flexible, helpful and generous with advice, giving us many valuable tips for the region and beyond. Notes for future volunteers: • It is important to bring enough of your own food. Basic supplies are provided, but for anything beyond that, you should take care of it yourself. • Having a Brazilian SIM card is highly recommended (essential, really) in order to stay reachable and organized. Amazing place! Learned a lot about agroforestry and production and what it takes to make things organic. Uriel who is responsible for the agricultural part is very friendly and knowledgeable and is more than willing to share his knowledge. As is Fernando. Everyone there is very helpful and will let you feel at home. Again amazing place with beautiful hiking possibilities in the area where you can see different waterfalls and naturally made ponds where you can go for a dipp in the sun. The dogs are really cute.
