I stayed for a week and had an incredibly fulfilling time! Since there was no regular gardening work during my stay and Igor was feeling under the weather, I spent most of my time working at his friend Jordy farm. Jordy farm is beautifully maintained. The buildings made of natural materials and the lush green scenery were truly stunning, and spending time with their two dogs brightened my days. The work was fascinating, ranging from planting coffee and pineapples to building a permaculture-based field from scratch. They were always incredibly supportive while we worked and encouraged me to take breaks whenever I felt tired, which made the working environment very comfortable! And I have to say, the food was absolutely amazing! Jordy and his mother prepared wonderful lunches for us every day. The Brazilian home cooking and fresh juices, made with vegetables and fruits harvested right from the farm, were delicious and perfectly refreshed my body after working in the strong sun. On my days off, I had a great time visiting waterfalls and going fishing with the other volunteers. However, more than anything, being able to experience the entire process of roasting and drinking coffee—which was my main purpose for visiting Brazil—is a memory I will treasure for the rest of my life. Both Igor and Jordy were always thinking about what would be a valuable experience for the volunteers and genuinely did their best to provide it. Their dedication is wonderful, and it's something ...

Our time at Sitio Lumiar was AMAZING. Every person there is really friendly and welcoming. The work is fun and interesting. We were there with our two children aged 2 and 5 and they treated them like their own. We really didn’t want to leave. I would recommend Sitio Lumiar to anyone! The accommodation is also really good and Conrado makes sure you are not short on any supplies. Thank you Conrado and your team!

I loved my stay. I learned so much about bees that I want to start my own hives. I had to chance to try out many different honeys and they were all incredible. The days are calm and the activities really depends on what projets are currently ongoing. We even hiked and camped the last day I was staying, which was truely amazing. I would absolutely recommend this place.

The Retreat is a really beautiful place with great walks and wildlife. Accommodation super comfortable, there was no retreats on while I was there so I was able to stay in one of the rooms the whole time. Lots of high quality, varied vegan ingredients available to cook with and Tissy would cook for us all a great meal sometimes too. Ale and Tissy are really lovely and welcoming people, very approachable and open to sharing what they know but mainly just let you get on with the work. I helped with the construction of a cob house and learned a lot about the process. Working about 8-1pm then enjoying my free time to myself.

I had a great 7 days volunteering In Guapimirim. Igor, Gabriel and Paulina are fantastic hosts. Passionate about their projects, experts in their fields and informative teachers… I took part in various agricultural work, harvesting cacao, processing compost, pruning and maintaining plants. I feel like I’ve learnt a lot It was a great break from the chaos of the city, in our spare time we explored the town, cooked talked and chilled. I would highly recommend to anybody with a growing interest in agriculture ,produce and Brazilian culture . The volunteers bedroom and facilities are in great condition, clean and comfortable.

After three months traveling through Colombia and Brazil, it was at Igor place in Guapimirim that I had the most beautiful experience of my entire trip. I couldn't have dreamed of a better final destination. Igor welcomed me into his culture and his environment with extraordinary generosity. During my stay, I had the incredible opportunity to harvest coffee, cacao, tropical fruits, and even care for bees, all deeply enriching and unforgettable activities. Working in the jungle, in complete peace and serenity, was something truly unique. Beyond the garden work, it's on a human level that this experience touched me most. I made wonderful friends here, and the warm welcome from Igor, Paula, Gabriel and the Afojo association moved me deeply. I will never be able to thank them enough. I'm leaving with my head and heart completely full, and I can't wait to come back. I recommend this WWOOFing experience 300% go for it, you won't regret it !

I had a really great experience volunteering here and truly wish I could have stayed longer than the two weeks I spent on the farm. The work was varied and enjoyable. In the mornings, I would take care of the animals and in the afternoons I helped in the cheese factory with production, cleaning and packaging (or sometimes outdoors work). It was a great opportunity to learn more about artisanal dairy products. A special thank you to Deivid and Fabio, who I worked with most of the time — they were incredibly kind, fun and welcoming, even though my bad attempts at speaking Portuguese. Conrado is a great host, friendly, flexible and attentive. He made sure everything was well organized and that I had everything I needed during my stay. The place itself is beautiful, surrounded by nature with plenty of opportunities for walks and a peaceful atmosphere. The accommodation is very comfortable, and I felt at home during my stay. And a special mention to the dogs and the new little one who showed up during my stay and already feels like part of the family — I miss them all a lot already! Overall, I had a wonderful time here, learned a lot, and would absolutely recommend this place. I would love to come back if I have the chance one day 🌱

Jessica and Jonathan are an incredibly wonderful couple who run this unique farm. They explain so much, which has already helped me learn a great deal. Their open and warm nature, the shared meals, and the wonderful conversations made me feel comfortable and part of the community from the very first minute. Working together was also a lot of fun. Thank you so much, I highly recommend this farm!
