Me encantó estar allí. Gracias!!

Luiz is such an incredible human! It was amazing to spend those two weeks with him, filled with activities such as cutting grass with machines, planting many baby coffee plants, cooking great food, and laughing a lot! This place in Serra Negra is wonderful, and you can enjoy so much nature all around the fields. I hope I get the chance to come back in a few years to see the coffee plants I planted grow. And I also connected with his cat, who is the cutest cat in the world! Love you Jaku <3

My two-and-a-half-week stay with Giulia and Pedro at Sítio SouFarm was a truly enriching and positive experience, for which I am very grateful. Both of them are incredibly kind, open-minded and warm-hearted young people who have a lot of experience with WWOOFing/Workaway themselves and therefore know exactly what matters. From the very beginning, we felt welcome and respected. The work was fair and considerate, both in terms of working hours and individual needs. Pedro, in particular, took a lot of time to share his extensive knowledge about organic farming in Brazil. The work was not only hands-on, but also very educational and interesting, especially for those who are interested in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry and ecological systems. A special highlight was that Giulia and Pedro even invited us to their home, where we enjoyed a wonderful Brazilian barbecue, and there was another lovely barbecue together at the end of the stay. These moments made the experience very personal and special. In addition, both of them were always flexible, helpful and generous with advice, giving us many valuable tips for the region and beyond. Notes for future volunteers: • It is important to bring enough of your own food. Basic supplies are provided, but for anything beyond that, you should take care of it yourself. • Having a Brazilian SIM card is highly recommended (essential, really) in order to stay reachable and organized. Overall, I can fully recommend sta

Amazing place! Learned a lot about agroforestry and production and what it takes to make things organic. Uriel who is responsible for the agricultural part is very friendly and knowledgeable and is more than willing to share his knowledge. As is Fernando. Everyone there is very helpful and will let you feel at home. Again amazing place with beautiful hiking possibilities in the area where you can see different waterfalls and naturally made ponds where you can go for a dipp in the sun. The dogs are really cute.

This place is the Best! This was my second WWOOF experience, and I truly felt like I hit the jackpot with Carlos and Rafael. They are an incredible father-and-son team who welcomed me into their home in the jungle with open arms and their unforgettable smiles of happiness. From day one, they made me feel like part of their family, and their hospitality was just extraordinary warm and heartwarming! We had the most wonderful time together. They took me to see the stunning Forqueta waterfalls, we swam in the river on sunny days, build fires, and we even made music together with a guitar, having cozy, joyful moments. Every conversation was filled with warmth, and they really showed me how special life in the jungle can be. Rafael is a biologist and is very willing to share his knowledge! What stood out to me was how much they care about sharing the experience of living in and respecting the jungle. It wasn’t just about the work; it was about immersing yourself in nature and understanding how incredible it is to live in harmony with it. They wanted to share that feeling more than anything else. They’ve just finished building their own place in the jungle, and it’s amazing to see how they live so respectfully and sustainably in the midst of nature. "Nature rules and we have to respect that". In the end, I truly felt like I landed in the perfect place. It was a heartwarmingand I’m so grateful for everything Carlos and Rafael! Made friends for live!

I've spent 2 incredible weeks in Sítio Sou. Pedro and Giulia are awesome people that really cares about doing something better and they know a lot about agroforestry, agriculture and the environment in general. They always take time to teach you things about the farm but also about the place. Also I highly recommend to go to Teresópolis during the weekend to do hikes (Pedra do Sina), it's really worth it !

Thank you so much, Maromba! I can recommend this place to anyone who is willing to put in a lot of energy to gain many wonderful memories of this amazing place. The time I spent with Maromba at the foot of the national park was absolutely idyllic for me! It was so educational, meaningful, balanced, varied and also adventurous. From the very beginning, I felt welcome and useful. We really had a cultural exchange and Maromba took so much time to answer all my questions about nature and wildlife. He is an absolutely fabulous chef, especially when it comes to Brazilian dishes made with local ingredients. There is so much to discover in the surrounding area! Countless waterfalls and pools in the rivers to swim in, a village (only 5-10 minutes away by bike) with lots of small cafés, restaurants and shops and open-hearted, wonderful people. I was invited by the people in the village to join in activities (despite my very limited knowledge of Portuguese)! I wish you all the best, Maromba, and I would love to come back to your place to learn even more about nature and life.
